What is a PSIRA status?

A psira status is an indication of whether your Private Security company has been registered by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.

There are two possible statuses, A and B.

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) will update a company’s status when it passes the new industry regulations which came into effect on 1 October 2017.

In order to maintain their registration with PSIRA, all companies must transition from status A to status B.

When you log in to your mypsira account, you can find out what your status is as well as check any outstanding actions required by visiting My Profile.

What does a PESB notification mean?

You can think of it as a clearance from the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) that lets you know if your security company is up-to-date with their licensing and registration.

In other words, the status is one step away from being Ready for Collection. The best way to find out if your company has been notified of their PESB status is by logging in and viewing the notification sent by email.

Is your submission approved, pending or rejected?

Your status will be pending if you did not get enough points from an initial or re-assessment. Once your organization has accumulated enough points, your status will change to pending for collection and you can start the process of picking up the new pin.

An alternative way to check your Psira Status – the online PESB Tracker

Alternatively, you can also use the PESB Tracker, which is a free service. Enter your Username and Password and then click on Your Story in the blue bar on the left side of the screen.

This will allow you to search your name or phone number in order to see what stage your case is currently at.

If you have received an email with a status update since your last login, this website will tell you when it was sent out.

If your status still says Case Accepted or Opening Case, there is no need to worry; these statuses mean that we are still waiting for more information from the employer before proceeding with any action.

Can you submit an updated version of your submission after it has been rejected by PESB?

If you have submitted an incomplete form and PESB has sent you a notice of rejection, then you can resubmit the updated information, including the attachments requested.

If your initial submission was complete but incomplete information was provided, then this would need to be addressed before resubmitting the form.

PSIRA will send out a notice if the status of a completed registration changes such as assigning an official label or if there is another type of change.
