Insurance Hollard (Hollard Group) is a privately owned insurance group based in South Africa that operates under two insurance licences: short term and life.

The company was established in 1980 by Robert Enthoven, and the Enthoven family retains the majority share, locally through The Enthoven Family Trust (EFT) and internationally through Capricorn Ventures International (CVI).

he firm is known for the development of selling prepaid insurance, sold in cellphone-like ‘starter packs’ through retailers.

It has been rated in the Top 10 in South African Best Company to Work For survey from 2002 to 2006 and was rated fifth in 2006; In 2007 to 2009 Hollard was rated in the Top 10 in South African Best Company to Work For survey’s Medium Category Winners.

Hollard and Dalberg created HUGinsure the world’s first Social Impact Insurance entity. This was done in association with Aon and the Lloyd’s market. It will create a specialized risk assessment entity that will measure and manage risks associated with the funding of social impact organizations.

It will apply tested rating methodologies and risk management principles to facilitate the underwriting of social impact funding.

HUGinsure’s service will help funders assess the creditworthiness of social projects and organizations so they can deploy capital with confidence, accelerating the timely flow of funds to social organizations and preventing disruptions in their operations and impact.

Social Impact Insurance can be applied in both emerging and developed markets, and target underwriting outcomes from below market to market norms, depending upon the circumstances and degree of social impact achieved.

2. Find out which forms to fill in

There are standard forms that need to be completed and documents that you need to give us no matter what you’re claiming for.

  • Disability claim form: this needs to be completed by you.
  • Disability claim: this needs to be completed by the doctor or other medical professional that’s treating you.
  • Disability claim: this needs to be completed by your employer.
  •  Policy Owner form: this needs to be completed by the owner of the policy.
  • A certified copy of your identity document.

A bank statement or letter from the bank with a bank stamp confirming your bank account.

Car Claim

By the time you need to make an insurance claim, something’s gone wrong and you have a million things on your mind. Take a deep breath. We get it. That’s why we work so hard to make claiming as simple as possible.

1. Log your claim. Complete all relevant sections when logging the claim online and provide as much detail as possible.

2. Submit relevant documents. Submit all documents relevant to the claim via either the Manage Portal or email.

3. A consultant will contact you. Once we have all the documents we need, one of our friendly claims handlers will contact you, update you on the progress, request additional information, and advise on the process.

4. Verification We will verify the policy terms and conditions against the claims details.

5. Claim outcome. Once this is complete, your claims handler will contact you with the outcome and explain the process from there*.
